WHAT WE DO

OUR SOLUTION

HOW IRON ORE MINING WORKS

1. BLASTING DRILL

The initial step in the mining process involves using a blasting drill to create holes in the area where the ore is located. Using a blasting drill can increase efficiency, accuracy, and safety.

2. BLASTING

Holes are drilled into the surface, and then explosive materials are inserted by a licensed blaster. These explosives are activated using a detonator. Once the blasting is done, the fractured ground is ready for excavation.

3. HAULAGE

The excavator loads the blasted rock or ore onto a dumper. It is then transported from the mining pit to the processing plant for the next step.

4. CRUSHING/SCREENING

The first step in processing iron ore involves crushing and screening. Primary crushing uses a gyratory crusher, while secondary crushing uses a cone or jaw crusher. The crushed ore is then separated into lumps and fines.

5. BENEFICIATION

Beneficiation for improved product quality. Beneficiation involves grinding and separation. Grinding reduces recirculation while separation removes impurities via physical or size-based methods.

6. PRODUCT DELIVERY

The finished products are loaded onto trailers for delivery to the designated customers.

WHAT IS IRON ORE?

Iron ore, which is composed of rocks and minerals containing metallic iron, is a valuable resource extracted for its economic significance. These ores typically exhibit a range of colors, varying from dark grey, bright yellow, deep purple, to rusty red. Common forms of iron ore include magnetite, hematite, goethite, limonite, and siderite.

Considered the second most important commodity after oil, iron ore has become the world’s crucial raw material for the production of iron, which is then utilized in the manufacturing of steel.

Iron, as a highly versatile metal, possesses immense usefulness due to its ability to be blended with other metals, creating an array of robust alloys that resist corrosion and can be shaped into a diverse range of products. From automobiles to pins, household appliances to buildings, bridges to railways, and food cans to tools, we heavily rely on iron (in the form of steel) for nearly all aspects of modern life in the 21st century.
